“I like history, I like culture, and that was another reason that I wanted to go to Southeast Asia. All the (local) people we met were just like, ‘Thank you for being here.’ That is worth more than money can buy– that personal connection with others, to me, is the key in life.”
Yvonne F.
We got to do cultural things that were actually more unique than if you just went on vacation…more spiritual, local.

There was Sonia’s yoga class first thing in the morning, which I loved. She puts a lot of authenticity and genuine care into her classes. So, I started (each) day off feeling very loved and feeling close to that group.

I love the community. I love the friends that I meet here. I love being able to have alone time where I can go off and do my own thing and not feel responsible for anybody, or have a schedule that I need to do something. I need the rest; These retreats actually help you to have forced rest, and it’s nice.

It helped me to get clarity on my path… and also to do some healing from past experiences– explore that in a safe environment and free myself from some of that stuff. So, it’s a really deep inner journey for me.

I like to go and just totally reset, unplug, get back in tune with nature… all those things that you typically don’t get to do when you live in a big city.

This is not an intimidating situation where you feel like you’re going to be with a bunch of vegan yogis and you’re like, I want a glass of wine and I can’t bend my foot behind my head. It is not 24/7 yoga and intensity… It’s all very balanced with enjoying wherever we are.
Crystal A.
I just found it such a pleasant and welcoming environment, and we were all able to be our true selves and be vulnerable with folks that we had just met in many instances, and I thought that was remarkable.

I can highly recommend such a retreat for people who are looking for precious me time. Being recognized as an individual, not only as a couple or wife of, or mother of – be yourself.

I spent a lot more time in introspection—and had some big aha moments about how I was living my life, when I was living true to myself, when I wasn’t—and really, that has influenced how I’ve made decisions about my career and my family over the past couple of months.

I’ve done other retreats with Sonia, and I’ve had such an incredible experience. I’m feeling connected to myself, feeling connected to the other people that are here. I’m going back with more space in my body from all the beautiful yoga practice that we did. I really feel very content and grateful to have been here.

I was afraid it was going to be a bunch of people who were perfect in every pose in matching perfect outfits, and that is not me. And, that is not at all the people that are on this retreat.

My creativity is definitely loosened up when I take the time to pause, breathe.

I’ve learned so much, especially around the power of the breath, and I’ve learned it in a way that can integrate into my daily life. The pace and the flow of the retreat are very flexible and fluid, and I think that supports the different needs of people, whether it’s a person who wants to have some action and adventure, or a person who needs… stillness and silence. I think there’s something in this retreat for everyone.

I was single after years of being with someone, and I wanted to travel, but I didn’t want to travel alone. So this gave me a wonderful opportunity to be alone together. I could do my own thing, but I was still in a cool community of people.
